OPTI-6G Plenary Meeting Successfully Held at Brunel University London

The OPTI-6G consortium gathered at Brunel University London on 18–19 November 2025 for a highly productive in-person plenary meeting.
The two-day event brought together partners from across Europe to review progress, align technical objectives, and strengthen collaboration as the project moves into its next phase.
This face-to-face meeting was also the occasion for the team to visit the Brunel lab.

The programme covered project management updates, advancements in technical development, and detailed sessions across several key work packages. Discussions focused on the latest progress in optical wireless access network design, localisation sensing, system integration, KPI testing, and the project’s ongoing engagement with standardisation bodies. Preparations for forthcoming potential opportunities, such as MWC 2026, EuCNC 2026 and more.
Over an intensive and inspiring agenda, we explored:
- Project coordination and progress updates
- Technical development across multiple work packages
- Ongoing contributions to standardisation activities
- Integration, testing, and future demonstrations

Brunel University provided excellent support as host, including organising an evening dinner that offered the team a welcome opportunity to continue discussions in a relaxed setting.
With clear actions and a reinforced roadmap emerging from the meeting, the consortium now looks ahead to the next milestones, deliverables, and demonstrations that will further drive the OPTI-6G project forward.
