The OPTI-6G project was officially introduced during the SNS Webinar – Introducing the Call 2 SNS Projects (Part 1 of 2) on March 7, 2024. Project Manager Adam Kapovits from Eurescom presented the project’s objectives, technological innovations, and its role in shaping the future of 6G communication infrastructure.

What is the OPTI-6G Project?
The OPTI-6G project is focused on designing, developing, and demonstrating Radio Optical 6G technology. This innovative approach enables seamless network deployment across various types of properties, allowing third-party developers to create and test new services using an open-source environment.
Key Innovations:
- Integration of cell-free sub-THz and near-IR 6G architectures
- Elimination of uplink interference caused by Home Network Base Stations (HeNBs) and WLANs
- Incentivizing construction companies to adopt cell-free networks in new developments
- Pioneering a network system that improves connectivity for homes, businesses, and public spaces
By demonstrating these capabilities, OPTI-6G aims to redefine next-generation wireless connectivity and support the development of smart, interference-free networks.
